Machiavelli – The Prince – War in Iraq

On the day when the total causality in Iraq exceeds more than the total number killed on September 11, it seems that United States is about to face the humiliation of Vietnam again. Withdrawal from Iraq looks eminent without achieving the goals set forth in the first place, along with numerous blemishes of torture and inhumane treatment of the Abu Gharib prisoners.

The Neo Conservative strategy based on the Machiavelli principle of ‘Might is Right’ and rules can be bent as per the mighty’s convenience is about to fall flat on ground. Today the war is perpetuating terrorism rather than safeguarding America with pre-emptive measures.

Machiavelli Points out Following Lacunae in Bush Administration Iraq Strategy

o Going to war is not the most important thing but going with proper planning is the most important thing.

o Winning the top is always easier than staying at there. Post war control and administration is much more difficult than defeating a sanction ridden government.

o State governance requires different skill and people than winning a war. Army is good at winning war not at providing domestic security

o No principality or nation can be ruled against the will of its people and hearts and mind can’t be won by the torture pictured in Abu Gharib pictures.

o Dividing the people against each other to rule is not the most prudent way as the weaker faction will always welcome an outside force. The Sunni insurgency is backed by the Al Qaeda while the Southern Iraq is ruled by Militia backed by Iran and Syria.

Machiavelli Suggestions to Bush Administration

o No matter what it takes crush the sectic violence. Already six and half million Iraqis has been killed and more will be killed if the American government fail to maintain law and order condition.

o Reduce the number of American Soldiers on road and arm the locals. No matter even if they are former Bathist. Enabling the locals will go a long way as they have better knowledge of the geographic conditions but also know the inside out of the society. It is always easier to crush nobles when the society is calm rather than the other way round.

o Saddam have a stronghold in the central Iraq and a statesman representative from his sect should be backed to re-instate faith in the insecure Sunni minority.

o Crush the Mehndi Sadr militia in the south so that Iran will have lesser influence on things.

o Back the government elected by people rather than sycophants and pour in crude money back in economy so that people can hope.

At present the people in Iraq doesn’t have hope and until and unless they have hope the vicious cycle of violence won’t stop. Before invasion even though it was ruled by dictator Iraq was still one of the secular countries in the Middle East but not it is nothing. Road is hard and long and if America doesn’t get its act in order, it will leave another Afghanistan – breeding ground for terrorism and hatredness. The dream of shining democracy in the heart of Middle East today is as far as planet Pluto few months ago. It is there … It is there … Oh there is no Pluto anymore. It is not a planet anymore.

Iraq War – Its Impact on Muslims

Muslims and Christians have a history of conflict. During last few decades when USA was sought by the nations of Middle East it was thought that the conflicts will reduce. But USA’s total support for Israel has made US a suspect in the eyes of Muslims around the world. What impact has the Iraq war had on Muslims around the world?

The war on Iraq was started with the stated purpose of finding WMDs. It ended with death of Saddam Hussein. After that the USA decided to have democracy in Iraq. But did not know how to do this. Can one export democracy? USA tried that. It is still trying that. But it is only resulting in war between Shias and Sunnis. As a result both Shias and Sunnis around the world are blaming the USA for deaths of Muslims. USA is getting known as an enemy of Muslims for no good reason.

Muslims all around the world have loyalties that cross the nation boundaries. Muslims empathize with each other. They call for Jihad and are ready to kill those they believe are destroying Islam. Why educated Muslims should confuse about the west is always an enigma for me. What they want from west is unknown to me. If you ask Muslims about what exactly they want from others, you may get confused answers. The right path should be to live peacefully with others. But because some of them believe that west wants to destroy Islam they are waging war.

The correct idea should be for the USA to make a council of Muslim nations and ask them to solve the whole problem in Iraq. But that is easier said then done. The common Muslim thinks differently than the rulers. The rulers around Islamic countries also do not want to dabble in Iraq. Whether the new president can create peace in Iraq will be worth watching. It looks difficult.

Iraq War – What Is The Price?

The war situations in Iraq are getting worse day by day. The Democrat’s support for the war to continue means that it will stagger forward in anticipation of the mission getting collapsed.

Today Iraq is no longer called a unified country.

We have forced some 2 million Iraqis to take shelter elsewhere as their home have turned to ashes. Equal number of people fled from the country. Countries like Jordan have maximum number of refugees there.

A report says that every one out of three Iraqis needs emergency aid badly, but the war and aggression is so widespread that medical aid is impossible. Iraq is in a state of anarchy. The American chaos has forced people to take bad against US troops as well. Everyday many soldiers get killed in Iraq. But, we have to wait until some politician finally calls our troops back.

It was not thought to be like this. Do you remember all visions of a democratic Iraq? Politicians had assured us that the combat would be a cakewalk.

We would be welcomed as liberators. Democracy would be enforced in the Iraq. Now, struggling to save their own trustworthiness, they charge the disaster because of poor planning and management.

Iraq was full of oil resources. The disaster had led this country to a situation where it can hardly supply its resources to any other country. The victory over Iraq has resulted only violence, poverty, terrorism, and lots of other things. Such a situation has forced Iraq to struggle with the poverty, poor economy, and terrorism for next a few couple of years.
Was this victory worth it?
